| Experience: | I have worked as an ESL tutor, primarily focusing on reading comprehension and writing. I would like to continue tutoring in Spanish, ESL, Political Science/Government, History, or Social Studies as I enjoy working with children in an educational environment. I am currently applying for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to teach in Chile from March to December 2010; I hope that continued experience as a tutor will help me pursue my professional and personal goals. I am certified to teach English as a Foreign Language through Bridge-Linguatec.
I currently maintain a 4.0 GPA as a double major in Political Science and Spanish. I studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from July to November 2007, so I have a cultural understanding of the Spanish language as well. I have received the President's scholarship for four years of undergraduate study, the International Programs Office scholarship, and the Dean's Circle Scholarship. I am a member of Barrett - the Honors College at Arizona State University, and I am currently working on my undergraduate thesis.
