I have 19 years experience teaching special needs students in the inner cities of Los Angeles, Chicago, Phoenix and Austin. I have twenty-six years experience as a social worker and director of violent crime for the Attorney General's office in Illinois. Help write the School Safety Law, won the A.P.P.L.E. scholarship in college for all of the work I have done with at risk youth. Tutor students after school weekly. I believe that it is important to stress the importance of learning no matter where you come from. I know the importance in stressing and providing positive learning tools to all students regardless of their learning ability. All students can learn they just learn at their rate and it is up to us to determine the how and way they learn and provide engaging and fun lessons so students want to learn.

Hobbies

I was a professional ballet dancer at the age of 3 and danced with a well known company for years. I have started after school dance programs for many of the schools I have taught at. I also was the coach of the deaf cheering team bringing the team fro 3rd place in the state to 1st the year I was their coach. I have also been a Step coach ( a type of dance) that completed state wide in California and placed in the top 3rd. I love children and young adults and have developed positive and healthy rapports with my students and clients. I believe that I deliver engaging and fun lessons that provide my clients with the information they need and are learning growing into excellent examples of life long learners.
