Education
I am currently a fourth year medical student at Creighton University in Phoenix, AZ. I received my bachelor's degree at Wichita State University in Physics and Bioengineering. I have obtained minors in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. When it's not pandemic season, I love to travel. I've been to many places in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. I have also gotten really into cooking and baking over the past few years. Other hobbies include really anything outdoors: boating, fishing, camping, scuba diving, or snow-skiing to name a few. In my personal time, I love playing video games and reading books about history.
Experience
I have been tutoring on and off for 8 years officially, but my experience helping students in their course work goes back to middle school, when I would help my friends learn Algebra 1. My goals in tutoring are, first and foremost, for my students to get an A. This is obvious, and often the reason I am contacted in the first place. But I push for a secondary goal, that takes longer but has a more lasting impact. With student I work with, I find it essential to rehearse specific study strategies that will ensure a higher retention of course material, the ability to study and learn the material more efficiently when studying alone, and a toolbox of strategies that can be used when studying for other courses, either in this semester or the next. This is also a solution to the common problem of studying for hours on end with an improper strategy and scoring lower than what you deserve.
