Education
I first started out at a community College, Ocean County College to try to explore which career direction I wanted to take so I was liberal arts for a year until I decided to take-up Nursing. Took some classes for awhile and worked full-time until I got burned out doing both at the same time. Enlisted in the military, separated after my enlistment finished, and went back to school again. I enrolled at Ashford University and got a degree in Business Administration. Now I'm in the process of getting a teaching intern certificate to hopefully teach and go back to school again to get my masters in education. I've just applied for a substitute teaching certificate so that I can get more experience in a teaching environment.
Experience
I've done volunteer work in a elementary school helping kids with their work and lending a hand to the teacher. I believe being a tutor would make a big difference in someone's school life because it's a one on one support that they could rely on. Tutoring is one way to show children what creative thinkers they are and how much potential they have. Parents are so busy juggling life and work that an extra helping hand to help with their kids schoolwork would be a big help. Writing essays and creating presentations are daunting tasks but gets easier with the help of a tutor. I've tutored friends and classmates throughout the years although informally.
