Education
I started my undergraduate career at the University of Missouri in Physics & Mathematics. 2/3 of the way through I decided to change my career path from Astrophysics to Applied Physics. I was offered a research position at the University of Toledo so I transferred & completed my degree there. I graduated in 2011 with honors & several awards for my research. My work has been presented at a national conference & was published in an international journal. Graduate coursework includes a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics from Penn State University.
Experience
I currently work in an Engineering position at a national construction & engineering company in Scottsdale. My work is focused around refining the performance of power plants for many of the top power producers in the country. My tutoring experience started in high school as a reading & violin tutor to elementary students. In college, I worked for multiple tutoring companies in Columbia & Toledo. Subject areas included: physics (calculus & algebra based), math (elementary through advanced college level), writing, reading, study skills & test prep. I am Base SAS certified. Programming in SAS & Jmp languages are available for tutoring as well, although not listed below. I enjoy being a tutor because I truly value education and I love to learn. I strive to share that excitement with my students and coach them not to be intimidated by their school work. ...Don't go into an assignment assuming that you can't do it & don't be afraid to ask for help! The rest can all be learned. I am an outgoing & friendly individual who can work with any personality type.
