Experience

I tutor students based on the fact that everyone learns differently. When students struggle with a topic, it's often because it wasn't taught in the way that they learn best. I focus on the student's learning style to teach to them in an effective and efficient manner. I'm currently a certified substitute teacher, and I teach math and science topics. I enjoy problem-solving, and I utilize this throughout my career. When I work with students, I focus first on helping them understand material fully. Next I help them work on their critical thinking and problem solving skills. Lastly, I have students demonstrate their knowledge to me on practice problems and new challenges. This lets me know my student has learned the material and can apply their knowledge. I believe this is the best way to help students be successful and have them retain information for future use. I'm looking forward to tutoring students in biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, linear algebra, inorganic chemistry, and other related topics. I can also help students prepare for the ASVAB and other standardized tests. When I have free time, I like to do outdoor activities. This includes hiking and camping. I also like to spend time playing with my kids.
