Experience
As a long-time teacher and professional writer, I know from experience how important it is for students to believe in themselves. That's because I do! I have seen many of my students initially hurting and afraid because their worried parents and teachers have placed them in tutoring to help them resolve academic problems. This can sometimes feel like a punishment to these students, but my focus is on the positive in everyone. I have seen my students exceed everyone's expectations, including their own. I work closely with each of my students to find the learning process that works best for them, especially when it comes to public speaking, which can be a nerve-wracking experience for anyone. With a master's degree in Educational Leadership, a bachelor's in Communications, and teaching credentials for over 12 years, I have worked with many students on many levels, including reading comprehension, which is one of the most difficult subjects. I worked as a literacy coach in Ohio, and now I spend much of my time writing professionally, so both the written and spoken word are very important to me. My passion for words keeps my students engaged, and my strong encouragement helps them excel.
