Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Toledo and my master's in Secondary Education at Northern Arizona University, where I specialized in Bilingual & Multicultural Education. I have also taught Spanish for 16 years in middle schools, high schools, and colleges. I have spent time studying in two Spanish Immersion schools in Mexico over the last decade and hold an endorsement for Structured English Immersion in Arizona, as well as a certification as a Highly Qualified teacher. I have a lot of experience tutoring all kinds of English subjects, organization, and study skills, but Spanish is the field I'm passionate about and what I'm most excited to teach. My teaching strategy involves moving backwards a bit to teach students the very basics of the field they are studying in. Once there, we can best determine what plan of action will work for getting into the more complex topics. I do my very best to teach each student how to learn on their own and be responsible for their own education, so that no matter the level of teaching they receive going forward they will be able to keep themselves on track. In my free time I enjoy traveling, cooking, reading, yoga, and scrapbooking.
