• As a teacher, most of my job includes tutoring. Before becoming a teacher I was a teacher's assistant where I was able to sit in a one-on-one environment with students and help them work through their assignments. • SAT = 1420 (score was out of 1600) • I want to be a tutor because it gives me the opportunity to get to know a student and truly help them out the way I know how. • Being that my degree is in History and Social Studies my course-load was made up of Economics, Government, History, and other Social Studies-type of classes. Before studying History I bounced around to different fields. I spent the longest amount of time studying Psychology, Philosophy, and Religions. • I was the lead teacher of a team that raised the grades 6 – 8 reading scores by an average of 13%.
