For the last six years, I taught academic English. Language is my calling. My experience is in applied linguistics, which allows me to have a rich understanding of the English language. I am able to analyze and see subtle nuances in word choice, style, and syntax. I love helping students to become successful in writing and reading.I do have to admit test prep is my preferred subject. It is fun to see students progress in such a short amount of time. When it comes to teaching test prep, I have a two-pronged approach. First of all, I teach them the tips and tricks for tackling the test they are studying for. Then, I use the exam as a map for teaching them writing, vocabulary skills, grammar, and advanced reading that will help them throughout the rest of their life.In 2014, I received a master's degree in Applied Linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University. In 2009, I graduated from Georgetown University with my bachelor's degree.When I am not teaching students you can find me reading, traveling, and cooking.
