I earned my bachelor's degree with a focus on secondary mathematics from Arizona State University. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in the same field from Northern Arizona University. I primarily tutor math courses such as algebra 1 & 2, calculus 1, geometry, elementary math, middle school math, pre-calculus, trigonometry, arithmetic, pre-algebra, and linear algebra. However, I also tutor several courses in the field of English, including writing, college English, essay writing, English grammar and syntax, and reading. Additionally, I help students prepare for a variety of standardized exams such as the ACT, PSAT, and SAT. My experience as a teacher has taught me that while it may be more difficult for some students, all of them are capable of learning. That is not to say that each student will learn in the same way! Everyone has a unique background, learning style, and academic history. These differences are often not acknowledged or recognized in a general classroom where students must learn in groups of up to 40 other children. That is what makes private tutoring so remarkably valuable for those students who are struggling to learn with the standardized methods utilized in most classrooms. I love having the opportunity to work with students to discover the perfect mix of learning tools and resources to help them achieve their academic potential.
