Private tutor in Phoenix, AZ
Arizona State University - BS, Biology
I am a math tutor in Phoenix, Arizona. I attended Arizona State University. In addition to tutoring, I have five years of experience teaching in classrooms. My philosophy is that no questions are stupid when a student is attempting to learn a subject. I realize it can feel intimidating to ask questions in a classroom; however, asking questions can benefit both the student and the teacher. Students benefit because questions allow the student to verbalize their understanding of a subject. Teachers benefit because questions from students allow the teacher to adjust or tailor their explanations of the subject. My goal is to always create a safe space for students to learn and ask questions, whether I am working in a classroom or as a private tutor.Developing a proficiency in math requires a lot of practice. While math may be difficult for some students, I believe it can be understood and enjoyed by anyone. My approach is to maintain an ongoing dialogue with students to be certain that the student understands the mechanics and can repeat their success.I tutor students in math and science subjects, including algebra, precalculus, trigonometry, biology, microbiology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, earth science, physical science, and life sciences. In addition to teaching, I also enjoy comic books, science fiction, and embroidery.
