Education
I hold a PhD in European History from Yale University. My areas of concentration were the Italian Renaissance, Medieval Europe, and 19th century intellectual history. As an undergrad I majored in history with a split concentration on US and Western. I graduated cum laude from college and magna cum laude from grad school
Experience
I have 25 years experience as a college teacher primarily in departments of history, but I have also taught in depts. of English, classics and humanities. I have taught both in the US and abroad, including a year in Iraq, and have taught the full range of history courses - world, US, and western/European. I have been a prep school headmaster and am well prepared to tutor high school as well as college students. My research area is Italy with an emphasis on the Renaissance.
