In my work at a private Christian school over the past twenty-five years, I tutored the students throughout the academic year and during summer. I tutor elementary level math, reading, phonics, writing, and test prep. My goal is to build a rapport with the student and see how they go about learning. I then apply methods that work with their learning style to help them succeed. What I believe is one should be connected with the subject, otherwise they will not be motivated. The student's strengths and interests are important in this process, so I try to get to know the person, and how they learn, when I tutor them. I can then plan the lesson based on what fits best.For college, I attended Ball State University and now live in Phoenix, Arizona. My outside interests include reading, traveling, and enjoying sports such as basketball and baseball.
