I have prior tutoring experience working with the following tutoring company for 4 years: The Academic Advantage 5777 W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90045 Title: 1-on-1 Tutor (3/2010 – 5/2014) Duties/Responsibilities: Generated individual grade level lesson plans, established academic objectives for student, prepared assignments, communicated lesson goals, guided students through reading/mathematic comprehension skills, presented problem sets/assignments, communicated student progress with parent and student. I have always enjoyed being a tutor because it allows me to help students in their pursuit of a higher education. I love that feeling when I see a student inspired to learn something new and push themselves to achieve their academic goals. I I have worked in many study groups from middle school, high school, and at the university and have a philosophy that working with others works better than working alone. More minds are greater than one because everyone knows something that you don't. When I am tutoring someone, I always like to learn from them as well. I have worked in education as a substitute teacher, intern teacher, tutor, office assistant, and educator since 2006.
