As a classroom teacher, I've been state-certified for the last 60 months. Over the course of my teaching career, I have instructed students in grades four and five, and I have also had the opportunity to work with older and younger students in the tutoring programs offered at various schools. Additionally, I tutored throughout my high school and college career.I earned an elementary education B.A. from Northern Arizona University, and I plan to start my education leadership M.A. next summer at Arizona State. I can truly say that teaching is one of my passions. I gain satisfaction in assisting children to grow and to increase their knowledge base each day. While classroom settings have their place, some students tend to get lost in the hustle and bustle when they are among a group of their peers. Tutoring provides a way for more personalized instruction so that students who require more attention can get the help they need.My communication skills are such that I can explain what students need, what their challenges happen to be, what their strengths are, how to set realistic goals, and what it will take to achieve these goals. My primary goal is to help children feel safe and comfortable during tutoring sessions, and I have the skills needed to accomplish this.When I'm not teaching, studying, or tutoring, I enjoy reading, ballroom dancing, and watching movies on Netflix.
