I'm a student at Arizona State University working towards a Ph.D. in Human Communication with an emphasis in persuasion and social influence. My academic advisor encouraged me to apply to graduate school one year ahead of schedule, so I had only one week to prepare for the GRE. My scores were high enough that I received a full tuition waiver to graduate school! For several years I served as a writer and copy editor for our college newspaper, and was later a freelance editor for author Jerramy Fine. While I'm a graduate student, I'm also an undergraduate teacher honing my teaching and tutoring skills. I'm qualified to tutor reading, phonics, grammar/mechanics, college essay writing and editing, English, psychology, and social sciences. I'm a very capable tutor advanced or gifted students, and can help your student with IB courses, including extended essay, philosophy, psychology, and theory of knowledge. I can teach your student how to implement more effective homework and study skills, or how to shine at public speaking. I'm also available to help you or your student prepare to take the GRE.My indoor pastimes are reading, writing, cooking, and baking. I love to spend time at the dog park with my dogs, hiking, practicing martial arts, or simply outdoors enjoying the mountains and Arizona sunshine.
