Experience
My teaching techniques do not rely on a rigid process, because I feel that the only way to teach an individual is to adapt the teaching process to fit the student. I believe each student requires different stimuli in order to perform at their fullest potential. I hold a bachelor's degree in Special Education with a minor in Elementary Education, as well as a master's degree in Education with a Reading Endorsement. Both were earned at Arizona State University. In terms of teaching experience, I taught a huge range of students in a variety of capacities. I have spent many years teaching students in private school and public schools. I also have ample experience acting as a private tutor, both in one-on-one settings and through online tutoring websites. I have also spent time working for MentorKids USA, a mentoring program that involved acting in a supervisory position overseeing mentors, planning activities, and interacting with family groups. I have also had the opportunity to work with refugees who had recently immigrated and were attending U.S. high schools for the first time, helping them throughout high school. I was very proud when they graduated from high school! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, and biking.
