Experience
As a tutor, my goal is to give my students the skills and tools so they can approach difficult subjects with confidence and overcome their academic obstacles. I consider obstacles to be problem-solving challenges. The point of an education is for a person to learn skills they will need in the real world, like logic. Sometimes, though, what we learn in a classroom is only one approach to a specific method. As a tutor, I can help students with different approaches so they can figure out the best way they can learn. I tutor students who struggle in reading comprehension, writing and essay editing, literature, grammar, mechanics, phonics, English, and test preparation. I also help students develop better study skills and organizational habits, and can help with computer science, BASIC, and technology classes. I received my bachelor's degree at the University of Phoenix, then a master's degree at Northern Arizona University, so I know how important good study skills and test preparation can be when trying to get into the school of your choice. When I am not pursuing my passion for education, I love to ride my bike and write both fiction and nonfiction.
