Experience

I am an experienced, patient, positive, and creative tutor in many subjects of academics and the arts. I have previously tutored individuals or taught classes in a variety of classroom subjects and levels including : 1.) Middle school or regular/AP high school math, sciences, and literature, 2.) Standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, and MCAT (Kaplan hired me to teach their full MCAT classroom course a few years ago), 3.) College or medical applications including personal statement editing and interview tips. My tutoring style revolves around providing my student(s) with the tools to truly understand their study subject material, to fully comprehend the theories behind the single specific practice problem currently facing them, and to find unique creative learning methods fitting their individual learning styles. No two students are the same and therefore no two lessons are thee same. Sometimes route memorization is necessary, but I continually strive to put the subject matter in perspective for my students, to spark their interest and thereby their earn it a permanent in their memory. Therefore, I enjoy getting to know each of my students and helping them not just to succeed on their currant course or test, but to create the building blocks based on their broad knowledge base that will pave their way to future successes . I am thrilled when my students succeed. If they happen to have a setback, I simply focus on reevaluating, re-motivating, and creating a different learning or study strategy to position the student to succeed next time. Outside of the classroom I am a published professional photographer and journalist, international volunteer, and the best role model I can be. Potential future students or parents are welcome to reach out to me by phone or email. Add me as a tutor and we can connect to discuss specific trouble subjects, the student's preferred learning style, their course format and other areas that will help both you and I determine if we are a right fit! I look forward to hearing from you.
