I am currently working on my undergraduate degree in astrophysics from Rio Salado College. I have been tutoring students at the high school and collegiate level for several years. I spent nearly a year as an exchange student in Belgium where I dramatically improved my ability to speak and read French and I believe that experience was invaluable in my tutoring practice. My favorite field of study is mathematics but I tutor a variety of courses, including algebra 1 & 2, calculus 1, geometry, trigonometry, physics, French, reading, writing, literature, English grammar and syntax, pre-algebra, math, science, English, astronomy, AP English language and composition, and languages. I have a very personalized and personable teaching style. I take my time discovering exactly where each of my students current level of understanding is so that I am able to create lessons and examples that will be easily accessible for the student. I also believe in increasing the difficulty incrementally. When students experience academic wins where they have previously only experienced struggles, they quickly become more motivated and confident in their skills. I love watching as a student moves from being fearful of a subject to slowly becoming more curious and engaged with the material.
